It happened in the sixth month of pregnancy, when the mother was diagnosed with preeclampsia. There was no choice, and she was rushed into an emergency surgery. He was born premature, tiny, and immediately placed in intensive care.
The parents watched over his bedside with worry, day and night. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, and finally the time came to bring him home. The parents thought the nightmare was behind them, but they had no idea what still awaited them…
At night we heard strange noises coming from the crib. Hands twitching, eyes staring, mouth open — and we couldn’t understand what was happening.
The medical team explained that it was epilepsy — a type of seizure that his tiny body couldn’t withstand. Many treatments and different medications followed for months, with countless tears and prayers. Until, slowly, patiently, and with much pleading, a ketogenic diet managed to stop the seizures.
But the damage was irreversible. Today, at age 1, he suffers from severe cerebral palsy and intellectual disability. He does not speak or walk and is completely dependent on full-time care.
“He always smiles, he has never hurt anyone, so we always called him ‘Pure Angel’ — and that’s where the association’s name came from.”
The Pure Angel Association was founded to provide financial and emotional support to special-needs families and their angels, born out of deep personal and genuine pain. It is possible to change the fate of the families who are still fighting.
